Obsi.gg is a free, fan-made World of Warcraft Great Vault tracker. This page explains what data the site handles and why. The short version: you can use Obsi.gg without an account, and connecting one stores as little as possible.

Using Obsi.gg without an account

Searching for a character and viewing its Great Vault progress requires no account and no login. Character data is fetched from public sources (the Battle.net and Raider.IO APIs) and is not tied to you in any way.

When you connect your Battle.net account

Signing in uses Battle.net OAuth. Obsi.gg never sees or stores your Battle.net password — authentication happens entirely on Blizzard's side, and the site receives only a limited access token for reading your character list.

The following is stored on our servers:

  • Your BattleTag and display name
  • Your Battle.net avatar URL
  • The date your account was created on Obsi.gg
  • Any rosters you create, and the characters you add to them

Obsi.gg does not request, receive or store your email address, payment details, or any in-game data beyond your characters and their public progression.

Data stored in your browser

Some preferences are kept locally in your browser rather than on our servers, including your followed characters, your selected characters, and your colour theme. This data never leaves your device and is cleared when you clear your browser storage.

A session cookie is used to keep you signed in after you connect your Battle.net account. It is strictly necessary for login to work.

Third-party services

Obsi.gg relies on a small number of external services:

  • Battle.net API (Blizzard Entertainment) — character and account data
  • Raider.IO API — Mythic+ and raid progression data
  • Wowhead — item and spell tooltips on character pages
  • Vercel — hosting, along with Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for aggregate traffic and performance measurement
  • Google Analytics — aggregate usage statistics

Analytics are used to understand overall traffic patterns, not to profile individual users.

Deleting your data

You can disconnect your Battle.net account at any time from your account menu. If you want your stored data removed entirely, get in touch and it will be deleted — there is no retention requirement on our side.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is stored or shared, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
